COURT RESULTS: Round-up of cases from 1066 country

January 26:

Letitia Sawyer (aged 23), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaking a window. The offence took place at Bohemia Road, St Leonards, on January 14. She was ordered to pay £650 compensation.

Michelle Tuohy (aged 24), of Peartree Lane, Bexhill, was found guilty of causing damage to a door and assaulting a man by beating him. The offences took place at St Leonards, on October 12 last year. The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and imposed a 16 week electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 7am. Magistrates also issued a restraining order and ordered her to pay £300 in prosecution costs.

Peter Warren (aged 65), of Peppering Eye, Battle, pleaded guilty to six charges of falsifying a tacograph Contrary to the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981. The offences took place at St Leonards on April 19 last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £1,050 in costs.

Terry Carpenter (aged 55), of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of domestic burglary. The offence took place at Cornwallis Gardens, Hastings, on October 8 when he stole £80 cash. He was given a three month conditional discharge.

January 30:

Daniel Darker (aged 28), of Birkdale, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act. The offence took place at St Leonards on November 18. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for one year. The court ordered him to pay £200 prosecution costs. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis resin on November 18 and was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Liam Mile (aged 27), of Hampden Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. The offence took place on Hastings Road, Battle, on September 12. He was also found guilty of failing to stop after an accident in which personal injury was caused to another person. He was fined a total of £845 and ordered to pay £500 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with nine penalty points.

Shaun Coglan (aged 35), of Boyne Road, Hastings, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Whitefriars Road, Hastings, on November 21. He was also found guilty of disclosing private sexual photographs, or films without consent. The offence took place at Hastings on September 4. He was in breach of a suspended sentence, made by an earlier court, for offences of assaulting a woman by beating her and damaging property. He was sentenced to a total of 16 weeks in prison. Magistrates said the reason for the custodial sentence was due to the serious nature of the offences and that they involved a vulnerable victim.

Ethan Fuller (aged 18), of Bristol Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a window. The offence took place at Harley Way, St Leonards, on September 20. The court ordered him to pay £120 in compensation.

January 31:

David Orman (aged 18), of Cranberry Place, Southampton, pleaded guilty to stealing £100 in cash. The offence took place at Hastings between July 7 and July 11 last year. He was fined £100.

February 1:

Dean Palmer (aged 21), of Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to stealing four video games, worth £97, from Morrisons, at Hastings, on January 15. The court made a community order with a requirement of 40 hours or unpaid work.

George Poole (aged 42), of Southwater Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour and intentionally exposing his genitals, intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress. The offences took place at St Leonards on December 10. He was fined £67 for each offence.

Jamie Ripley (aged 30), of Wishing Tree Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offence took place at Hastings on December 17. He was given a one year conditional discharge.

Benjamin Tillman (aged 27), of Old London Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen when required to do so by police under the Road Traffic Act. The offence took place at Hastings on January 14. 
He was fined £280 and banned from driving for one year.

Nicholas Lyons (aged 46), of London Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Terminus Road, Bexhill, on December 28, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 63 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. 
He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 17 months.

Thadeus Weslake (aged 43), of Eversely Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Hastings on December 8. He was given a one year conditional discharge and magistrates made a restraining order.

Arnie Wilfort (aged 20), of Old London Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Fiat Punto on White Rock Road, Hastings, on December 4, with cannabis and cocaine in his blood stream. He was fined £233 and banned from driving for one year.
