June 20:

Harley Everest (aged 22), of Bohemia Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Hastings on February 10. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a sharply pointed item in a public place, at Station Approach, Hastings, on the same day, and to using threatening behaviour. The court made a community order.

June 21:

Lorenzo Damico (aged 18), of Pevensey Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a knife, with a six inch blade, in a public place at Langney Road, Eastbourne, on May 21. He was also in breach of a 12 month conditional discharge made by Eastbourne Magistrates Court last August for criminal damage and affray, The court made a community order with a requirement of 250 hours of unpaid work.

Earl Hickles (aged 29), of Catsfield Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a large kitchen knife in a public place. The offence took place at St Leonards on May 9. He was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for two years. The court also made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Ben Mersh (aged 24), of Oakhill Drive, Broad Oak, Brede, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Robertson Street, Hastings, on May 22. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was because of previous convictions. The court also made a community order with a requirement to attend a domestic abuse perpetrator programme.

Keith Williams (aged 52), of Church Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of causing harassment to a woman. The offence took place at St Leonards between October 2015 and January this year. The court heard that he threatened to cause harm to her family members, used her money to buy controlled substances, locked her in his flat and pushed her over when demanding money. The court made a community order and ordered him to pay £620 in prosecution costs. Magistrates also issued a restraining order.

Jeffrey Ashman (aged 44), of Alfred Road, Hastings, was sent to prison for 16 weeks after pleading guilty to six offences of shoplifting. The court heard that he stole two pairs of Levi jeans, worth £128, from Debenhams, Hastings, on April 28. He also stole jeans worth £255 from Debenhams on April 23 and meat products, worth £40 from Tesco at Battle, and 16 packs of meat from Co-op in Battle, on May 29. He stole jeans of an unknown value from Debenhams on May 12. The court said the reason for the custodial sentence was because of previous convictions.

Nico Jones (aged 25), of Lovat Mead, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at St Leonards on February 20. The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £300 costs.

Sebastian Woodcock (aged 36), of the Bourne, Hastings, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Hastings on October 3 last year. He was fined £250.

June 22:

Elliot Bourdon-Pierre (aged 24), of Udimore Road, Broad Oak, Brede, pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Clio car dangerously at Upper Maze Hill, Pevensey Road, Highland Gardens, Archery Road and Quarry Road, in Hastings and St Leonards on June 4. The court made a community order with a requirement of 200 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 15 months.

Michael Cope (aged 63), of West Parade, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to being in possession of an imitation firearm (a BB pellet gun) at Bexhill railway station on June 2. He was fined £80 and the court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Jack Griffin (aged 23), of Peartree Lane, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a black VW Golf on King Edward Avenue, Hastings, on April 8 with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £60 and banned from driving for 15 months.

Richard Jones (aged 31), of Spring Hill, Northiam, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall car on Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards, on April 18 with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.
