Council leader unveils his new cabinet for the next 12 months

THE CABINET for Hastings Borough Council was annunced at this week’s annual council meeting.

Council leader Jeremy Birch has chosen the members who will serve on the major decision making committee over the next 12 months.

Cllr Phil Scott has stepped down with a view to moving onto the planning committee.

Cllr Andrew Cartwright was given the corporate services portfolio.

Cabinet Lead Member will be cllr Birch with portfolio for budget.

Cllr Peter Chowney, was appointed deputy leader with portfolio for regeneration.

Cllr Kim Forward, portfolio for housing and community services

Cllr Jay Kramer, portfolio for environment and safety

Cllr Emily Westley, portfolio for leisure and amenities.

Cllr John Hodges was appointed chairman of the charity committee.

Cllr Birch said: “I would like to pay tribute to all of the work Phil Scott has done in cabinet. I look forward to working with my Cabinet colleagues to deliver a continuing programme of initiatives to help the people of Hastings.”
