Hastings Borough Council has today issued a public apology to a restaurant owner.
Spokesman Kevin Boorman explained that due to human error the Two Bulls Steakhouse in the High Street, Old Town, was wrongly graded as a ‘1’ for its food hygiene standards.
The authority has issued an apology to Oliver Smith, the owner.
Mr Boorman said: “I am pleased to confirm the Two Bulls Steakhouse now has a ‘4’ grading, which means that it has good standards of food hygiene.
“We apologise for the error that was made.
“We have carried out thorough checks on the Hastings food hygiene rating system and no other errors have been found.”
