Police have issued a warning about two men who have been cold calling on vulnerable people in St Leonards.

The men have been calling in the late morning and early afternoon, targeting elderly people on the pretence that tiles have fallen from roofs and that they can repair them.

The pair have a small white van with ladders on the roof.

One of the men is described as white, aged in his 30s and of stocky build, 5’6” with short curly dark coloured hair and wearing a black bomber jacket.

The other man was only seen sitting in the van but is again described as white and around 30 years old.

PCSO Andrew Hubbard, of Sussex Police, said: “I have received three calls so far this month from elderly people.

“Please contact us if you know who they are or have been approached in this way, on 101@sussex,pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1516 of 6/10.

“Meanwhile, never deal with such people. Keep them out and let us or Trading Standards know.”
