Dozens of people who signed up to attend the public launch of the historic Observer building in Hastings last night (Saturday August 29) had the opportunity to view two floors currently under development.
Guests were greeted with complimentary classic cocktails, and street food canapes on arrival, with entertainment provided by jazz quartet ‘Cocktail Safari’, who played music from the 1930s to the present day.
The iconic building has stood empty and unused for around 30 years.
Though full planning consent is yet to be approved, Flint Development Group hopes to transform the property with an art-house cinema, shops and restaurant promoting Sussex food and produce and provide student accommodation at the site in Cambridge Road.
The proposals, along with an opportunity to complete an online survey on what you think of them, can be found here.
