A CLUB donated more than £3,000 to a children’s charity before it disbanded.
Hastings Machine Knitting Club handed over £3,150 to Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
Carol Meek, from the group, contacted Demelza to tell the charity about the donation after the club had been wound up.
The club ran for more than 35 years and during this time members raised more than £80,000 for charities.
Vicki Pickering, Demelza’s community fundraiser, said: “We were delighted to have been chosen to receive the closing donation from the group and want to thank Carol and all the members who have contributed to the fundraising over the years.”
Demelza Hospice Care for Children works across the whole of East Sussex by providing hospice care at home for the families of children with terminal illnesses.
