Chichester and District law dinner takes on a fresh brief

About 120 members of the Chichester and District Law Society – which includes solicitors’ offices in Littlehampton – raised an impressive £1,805 for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.

The annual dinner, which was held at Chichester Cathedral, included a fund-raising auction and raffle, with prizes donated by businesses from across the region.

The society’s president, Edward Cooke, presented the cheque to the hospice.

He said: “We chose to support Chestnut Tree House because it is the only children’s hospice in Sussex, and is an incredible support to life-limited children and their families.

“Given that this was the first time that the Chichester and District Law Society used its annual dinner as a fund-raiser, we are delighted that we managed to raise such a large sum for a truly deserving local cause.”

Chestnut Tree House’s representative, Tracy Bowdery, thanked all the society’s generous members, adding that the hospice needed constant public support.
