The Andrea Hodd trophy began after Hastings’ resident Jamie Hodd’s mum passed away in 2007 and has grown to an annual event in her memory which has raised funds for many charities including St Michaels Hospice and Teenage Cancer Trust.

This years golf day had over 20 local businesses taking part in and sponsoring the event. Auction prizes included shirts from England football star Gareth Barry and Steve Cook, golf lessons from local upcoming professionals and sporting memorabilia.

Jamie said the highlight was the auction prize won by Barry Coleman. This was a mystery prize ending up with biggest cheer of the day for a more than generous bid that ended up being a game of crazy golf, fish and chips and pint of lager.

Trophies were donated by SKY TV and as an employee Jamie was given a donation to the chosen charity of £300.

The winners of the day, Dale Seymour and Andy Crichton decided to make a donation to St Michael’s Hospice.

Jamie said the day had been a great success, commenting: “It was great that so many people came along to support my day. I know some people come year on year and spend a great deal of money for our charity event, so thank you and thank you to the new faces. I hope you enjoyed it and come back next year.”
