A VET practice held a charity dog show and open day recently and raised more than £800 for stray dogs.
Coopers Vets, on The Ridge, saw more than 200 visitors through its doors and more than 100 dogs enter the show.
People also took the opportunity to have a look round the practice with staff on hand to answer questions.
The money raised will go to the Friends of the Strays of Greece, a charity that takes care of stray dogs on the streets in the country.
Patience Cooper, partner at Coopers Vets, said: “We hope all our visitors had as much fun as we did. We enjoyed having them for the day and are really thrilled to raise so much money for the charity.
“We had eight cuddly toys being ‘treated’ for fictitious ailments within the surgery with staff on hand to answer questions.
“Hastings and St Leonards Canine Society ran an excellent dog show, gave up huge amounts of time and expertise, organised the rosettes and donated all the entrance fees taken to our chosen charity, the Friends of the Strays of Greece. “This, together with the proceeds of the raffle, refreshment bar and generous donations by caring visitors to the open day, means that more than £800 has so far been raised. We also had a great response to our raffle.”
