AN album of U2 hits recorded by local musicians could raise up to £10,000 for the Hastings Lifeboat.

The CD RX87 The Songs of U2, which is released tomorrow (Saturday), features 10 tracks by 10 local bands, costing £10.

The project was driven by John Malone and Keith Willoughby, and the CD recorded at The Old Town Sound Studios. The CD is dedicated to the memory of the crew of the Solomon Brown, who died in the Penlee lifeboat disaster in 1981.
