Charities can pitch for beer festival site

ORGANISERS of Hastings Beer and Music Festival are offering a chance for a charity or non-profit organisation to promote their cause and raise awareness at this year’s upcoming event in July.

Applicants can apply to win a pitch throughout the festival, including the Battle of Hastings Proms and all three sessions at the Beer and Music Festival with the opportunity to run a fundraising activity and provide exposure for their cause.

The winner will get additional exposure with a feature in the Observer and festival organiser Hastings Round Table will give a £500 donation.

Tony Lee, festival chairman, said: “This is the first year we have promoted this unique opportunity in this way and we must thank our 2013 media partner, the Observer in helping us to bring this project alive. The interest has already been fantastic but we want more applications.”

The winner will be determined by a Facebook vote. Visit for more information. The Battle of Hastings Proms is on Thursday, July 4, with the festival on July 5 and 6. Tickets are on sale from and
