SINGING workshops for carers are to be held by The Association of Carers charity, which provides free support services across Hastings and Rother.
The workshops on April 17 and May 1, 22 and 29, are at St Peter’s Community Centre, in Bexhill, and will be run by Jo Wood, a former doctor, who now specialises in harmony singing and group teaching.
Jo said: “You don’t have to be good at singing to enjoy one of my singing workshops.
“The aim is to have fun and experience the delight of voices joining together in song.”
The group will learn one simple song each week and at the end of the workshops there will be the opportunity to go out and perform them in various public spaces, with the aim of raising awareness in the local community about carers’ issues.
Each singing workshop will run from 2pm to 4.30pm and light refreshments will be provided.
Carers are able to bring the person they look after with them and volunteers will be available to spend time with anyone who doesn’t want to join in the singing. Transport is available on request.
