BROADBAND SERVICE TO GET BETTER

MP Norman Baker was delighted to learn this week that British Telecom are finally set to improve broadband services to Rodmell.

Constituents from the village had contacted the Lewes MP regarding a particularly sporadic and low quality broadband service.

Rodmell is one of the few places locally where broadband cannot be reliably accessed, he said.

Mr Baker took their case direct to Ben Verwaayen, Chief Executive of BT, and as a consequence of his pressure, he has been informed that work will soon begin in the area to upgrade the local infrastructure network which will, once completed in December, lead to a much higher quality of service provision in the village.

Commenting on this, Mr Baker said:

'I am delighted that the broadband service in Rodmell looks set to improve in the near future. It is deeply frustrating when an area finds itself receiving a lower quality product merely because of its rural location.'
