Friday 26 July the weekly Brede Farmers Market begins at 10am in Brede Village Hall. It will still be ongoing as Liz has sorted out how to keep it open. I think we owe her a huge vote of thanks for beginning this venture and staying with it for so long. Short Mat Bowls will be in the same venue at 7.30pm this evening.

Saturday 27 July Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Jubilee Prom takes place at the Hastings Centre (opposite the Conquest Hospital) at 7pm Musical Director Roger Wilcock will be conducting Hastings Big Choir who will be singing a selection of well know songs. Feel free to dress up in Red, White and Blue and take a Union Flag to wave. All proceeds to the Hastings Foodbank, Tickets are £5 available on the door or from the Hastings Centre or John Newman Dry Cleaners 62 Bohemia Road St Leonards on Sea. Free Parking

Sunday 28 July at 9.30am Family Sung Eucharist at St George’s Church Brede. 10.30am Trinity Methodist Church Broad Oak meet, the Preacher is the Reverend Peggy Heim. Our Broad Oak FirefightersI Fete opens at 1pm until 4pm in the afternoon, there will be lots of side attractions and arena activities so go along with the family and have a great day as well as supporting a good cause. At 2pm our Cricketers face Beckley in an away match. At the Rainbow Trout the soloist will be Jimmy Adams from 5pm onwards.

Monday 29 July Age Uk Daycentre are going out for the day to the Moorings at Pevensey, lets hope the weather holds and they have a lovely day. Age UK Daycentre are now offering an alternative time for attending. For only £10 you can arrive in the morning and stay for lunch then go home or arrive for lunch and take part in the afternoon activities. Phone Maureen Distin if you wish to join and for more information 01424 883282. All the uniformed groups have stopped for a summer recess and will restart in September.

In Brede Village Hall at 7.30 The Whist Players will be meeting for another session with the cards.

Thursday 1 August the Rainbow Trout have School Holiday Activities starting at 10am. They are offering a range of sports, a teddy bears picnic and a Pirates party etc. You will need to book so contact Tina 01424 882031. Stretch and Tone with Sally is at 9.30am in the Village Hall.

Friday 2 August Brede the Farmers Market opens 10am – midday. The Rainbow Trout are providing the venue and food for a quiz in conjunction with the Oliver Curd Trust on Friday 2 August. Teams of four people, the cost will be £10 and will include the food. Contact Tina as above.

Sunday 3 August The Brede Giants will be open 10am –4pm courtesy of Brede steam engine society.

A Garden Party is to be held on Wednesday 7 August at Little Monkings, Rock Hill Northiam (opposite the Catholic Church) 2.30pm. Entrance is £4.50 and will include tea, there will be a large book stall, raffle, bric a brac tombola bring & buy and jewellery stall. It is in aid of the NSPCC. Please go rain or shine.
