A quieter weekend this week which is probably just as well as it is busy next weekend as you will see at the end of the column.

Friday 17 July: Yoga is at 9.30am in Udimore Community Hall. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. I arrived after 11.30am and was disappointed that what I wanted had already sold out. The early worm etc. came to mind. My fault I was trying to combine to many things, be warned though if there is something you particularly want or need be there early. WEA is in Udimore Community Hall at 11.30am Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers are now closed for the summer but will be back in September.

Sunday 19 July: The Church Services are as follows: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125
At St George’s Church Sung Eucharist starts at 9.30am and Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. The Church’s Website is hhtp://www.stgeorgesbrede.org.uk
Mrs L. Gilchrist will be preaching at the Methodist Church in Broad Oak at 10.30am.

Our Cricketers are in playing at home and their match today is against Etchingham at the Recreation Ground in Broad Oak at 2pm. I Hope the weather is good and you all do well.

Monday 20 July: Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am – 3.30pm. Maureen would be especially pleased to hear from you if you are phoning to join the group as it has some vacancies.

Drivers Urgently sought The group still urgently needs a voluntary driver to take clients to the Hall for 10am and then to return them to their homes later at 3pm.

Uniformed groups - The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall; the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, the Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. They have spaces in both groups. Julie Piper can be contacted for both on 01424 883464 or mobile 07863599537. You can also contact Hayley 07525168770 The Brede Scout sections are all held in the Scout Hut Stubbs Lane, Beavers welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old they meet from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Tuesday 21 July: Pilates are in Udimore Community Hall at 9.15 and 10.25am Brede Painting for Pleasure group meet at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. Flamenco is in Udimore Community Hall at 11.30am.

Friday 24 July: Yoga is at 9.30am in Udimore Community Hall. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. WEA is in Udimore Community Hall at 11.30am. Please pray for good weather for the weekend ahead and be prepared to be out and about in the Village.

Saturday 25th July: There will be a Produce and Cake coffee morning at the Parish Room in Waterworks Lane Brede from 10 .30am – 12 noon all proceeds for St George’s Church. Your support would be welcomed.
Rainbow Trout News - The Family Fun day has been moved to today from 12pm until 5pm. They have all the events that they originally had - Face Painting, Bouncy Castle, BBQ, Tombola, Raffles and games, My Time Clothing, soft play area and a band in the garden from 4pm. The band: name is to be confirmed. Please put this in your diary and fingers crossed for some sun! The more they raise the less they have to charge on the door for the Fireworks in November!

Sunday 26 July: Broad Oak Fire Fighters Fete 1pm-4pm in the recreation ground. Usual attractions: Tenterden Swing Group, Hastings Coastal Twirlers, Barbecue, Bar, Tombola. Raffle and of course the Fire Engine all proceeds go to Fire Fighters Charity and local causes.

Future Events: Friday 21st August the Rainbow Trout are holding their first Comedy Club Night!! 3 comedians hand picked by the famous comedy club, live in the Garden Room at the pub from 7.30pm. This is a ticket only event and spaces are limited. Tickets have gone on sale and have already started selling so if you want to go along they advise you to get in quickly.

Another 2 dates for your diary are Friday 2nd October and Friday 11th December. 2nd October when they have their Brilliant Blues Brothers Tribute night with a 2 course meal. Singing all the favourites such as Soul-man and Tail feather, the Professional act will be entertaining you all night. They have played many famous venues around the country and it promises to be a great night. Fri 11th December is their Christmas ABBA Tribute Night. This one will definitely sell out quickly! A Professional Tribute Duo who play up and down the country will be entertaining you all night with favourites like Dancing Queen and Waterloo together with a 2 course Christmas Meal. Both these events are ticket only and limited availability so if you want to join the fun, let them know as soon as you can! 01424 882031
