The money donated is generated by the Society's unique 'Small Change, Big Difference' scheme where members agree to donate just pennies from the interest they receive each year to make a huge pot of charity money.

Wayne Boardman, agency manager for the Society said: "We are absolutely delighted with the number of causes nominated as part of this year's event, which has been the most successful in the Foundation's history. The majority of good causes we have supported are small, local groups that are often overlooked by big organisations but are important to the community in and around Bexhill."

In total over 42,000 has been donated to over 750 charities and community groups across the country.
