Bognor driver injured after town centre crash

A man from Bognor Regis suffered serious injuries when his car collided with a tree in the town centre on Friday evening, police said.

It happened at around 9.10pm when a blue Vauxhall Corsa travelling south-west on the High Street left the road and collided with a tree.

The crash happened near the junction with Albert Road and no other vehicle was involved, police confirmed.

The driver, a 43-year-old local man, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, for treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.

Anyone who saw the collision or who may have other information is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1666 of 21/08.
