AN aquarium is inviting youngsters to try their hand at becoming marine biologists for the day as part of National Science Week.
Staff at Blue Reef on Rock-a-Nore are holding a series of free science-based activities and talks between today (Friday) and Sunday, March 20.
The aquarium’s daily talks will focus on biodiversity and habitat adaptations and there will also be other activities on offer such as quizzes and drawing competitions.
Organiser, Kate Buss explained: “Studying the different species’ behaviour is very important to us and we’re asking children to become aquarists for the day and monitor the different animal behaviours for us.
“They will have a handout and we will be asking for observations such as how many of our frogs are moving about during the day and all completed handouts will be entered into a prize draw to win a free child’s membership for the whole year.”
