Mother-of-two Lauren, of Sutherland Avenue, Bexhill, died on August 28. She was 20.

Paul Withers, 21, from Bexhill, has been charged with her murder and is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on December 18.

Elton said: “Nathan and I rode 38.7 miles in four hours and six minutes in adverse weather conditions against the wind and rain all the way. So far we have raised more than £2,300, with pledges still being collected.

“We would like to pass our thanks to everyone who has supported and contributed to this cause, either via sponsor forms, collection pots or online, and due to the generousity and support we received this year, our aim is to do a yearly event around the anniversary of her death.”
