Bible week in Bognor Regis will feature two very special guests

A miraculously-cured dancer and a reformed football yob will be among the guest speakers at this year's Bognor Regis Bible Week.

Julie Sheldon will start the eight days based on the theme Thy Kingdom Come!

The former professional ballet dancer contracted dystonia and became progressively paralysed until her cure.

She is now an associate of the Philo Trust, the evangelist J John's ministry, and will be talking about her experiences on September 20.

The final service, on September 27, will feature Gram Seed, whose testimony is equally remarkable but totally different. He was transformed from a drug addict, football hooligan and criminal to an evangelist with a ministry to prisons and schools.

In between comes a mass of events for all ages to build on the success of last year's inaugural Bible Week which attracted some 4,000 visitors.

The week is again being organised by Christ for the Nations UK at the Royal Norfolk Hotel which it runs.

Judith Lee, Christ for the Nations' director of studies, said: "There are some changes this year.

"For a start, the exhibitions will be in the marquee so that visitors won't miss them and the exhibitors will really feel part of the week.

"There are events for young people, too. A family morning on September 26 will see Littlehampton evangelist and escapologist Steve Pegg perform.

"That evening will feature a concert by Phatfish, the Brighton-based Christian rock band with wide appeal and who played last year.

"Also, the week is slightly longer. We are working even more closely with local churches this year through Churches Together in Bognor Regis and District. It is staging the afternoon fringe events and putting on the final service together with a free barbecue."

The week's theme and weekday Bible studies will be based on some of Jesus' best-known teachings in The Beatitudes.
