Since our last report, we have enjoyed a spring and early summer of varying evenings of music, fun and entertainment.
We have included a bring and buy sale for Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, Easter Egg and bonnets competitions, our anniversary party with buffet, fish and chip suppers and our own summer ball. We have coming up a Cockney Night with pie mash and liquor.
We have also had a very enjoyable spring break in Bournemouth and look forward in September to a break in Weston-super-Mare. A Tinsel and Turkey Break to the Isle of Wight in November has also been arranged if anyone would like to join us there are still places available.
Some members also enjoyed days out to Maidstone, Southend and various other day trips.
We have visited the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne, the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill and the White Rock Theatre for various shows and will be visiting again soon.
With Christmas coming along we will be organising our formal dinner and dance at the Highwoods Golf Club on Tuesday, December 2. If any of you would like to join us for an evening meal and entertainment from Double Take then we would love to have your company, please contact Pauline (number below if interested).
We would just point out that we are a group who promotes friendship and assistance in those lonely times after being left alone. There is no ‘quick fix’ but because we are of like mind we can offer the companionship that has been taken.
We meet at 7.30pm on Tuesdays at The Royal British Legion Club, London Road, Bexhill. Anyone interested in joining us please telephone the social secretary, Pauline 01424 712803 or the chairman 07769 270276. You are assured of a warm welcome.
