Beeding Bridge re-opens to public three days ahead of schedule

Contractor Balfour Beatty completed the work three days earlier than anticipated.

Repairs had to be made after a routine safety check, done by the county council, found the bridge needed strengthening so buses and heavy vehicles can continue to cross it safely.

County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Pieter Montyn, said: “We are delighted to announce these repairs have been completed ahead of schedule.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience while this work was being done.”
