THE bonniest babies in 1066 Country were presented with their prizes following the Observer’s Baby of the Year contest.

Their mums met at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre where its manager John Hough handed over their winnings.

Overall winner was handsome young Ryan Down, who also scooped first place in the 0-9 month category.

Ryan, from Mount Pleasant Road, won £200 worth of vouchers and a framed copy of his photograph.

More than 700 babies entered the annual competition and more than 1,000 votes were cast.

The two runners-up in the 0-9 months category were Reggie Lee and Taaliah Steel who won £50 worth of vouchers each.

Local girl Jessica Kavanagh came top in the 10-18 month category, winning a framed photograph and £100 worth of vouchers.

Runners-up were Ryan Kite and Olivia-Angel Skinner.

And in the 19-36 months section Sophie Bettney came first with both Gracie Trevena and Toby Gomes as runners-up.
