Battle Choral Society is embracing the technological age and now has tickets online as from Monday.
These are available from their website www.battlechoral.co.uk for the next and subsequent concerts. The Choral Society also has a Facebook page and invites the public to join and see what is happening. Its website also offers this information in more detail.
On November 29 it will perform its next concert at Christ Church St Leonards at 7.30pm. This is a programme of music by Mozart the main work of which is the glorious Requiem and two other pieces – Symphony no. 40 and the Misericordias Domini. These, as with the Requiem, are well-known works by this composer.
However, before this the choir is holding an open rehearsal as part of the Battle Festival. This takes place on Monday, October 20 and is an opportunity to witness how the choir rehearses and prepares for its concerts. This will be held in the Battle Memorial Hall at 7.30pm and singers of all abilities, with choral singing experience or not, are warmly invited to come along, watch, listen, learn and join in if they want to.
St. Michael’s Hospice is holding its bi-annual Singing day in St Johns Church, St Leonards on Saturday, October 18. Many choirs will be singing throughout the day, including Battle Choral in the evening. They ask that the public support this very worthwhile fundraising event.
The choir looks forward to hearing, seeing or even talking to you in the near future.
