Barnham girl, 10, hit by car is out of hospital

The young girl struck by a car in Barnham on Friday night has been released from hospital, police said.

The ten-year-old from the village was airlifted to hospital with what was described as a ‘serious leg injury’ following the accident on Barnham Road just before 7pm.

A police spokeswoman today said: “She was taken to hospital and treated for a broken leg.

“She was later released from hospital.”

The girl was flown to Southampton General Hospital and the road remained closed for over an hour.

According to police the driver of the Ford Mondeo, a 44-year-old man also from Barnham, wasn’t injured.
