Band’s charity gig for local charities and good causes

A LOCAL band is holding its annual charity fundraiser tomorrow (Saturday).

Soul X Press will be hosting the event at St Mary-in-the-Castle from 7.15pm which is in aid of local good causes.

Mike Raxworthy, from Soul X Press, said: “To date we have raised £103,000 for local charities. A huge chunk of this has been donated to St Michael’s Hospice.

“Only last month the band presented little two-year-old Elliot Ambrose, from Three Oaks, who has Angelman Syndrome, with a cheque for £4,075. This year’s Soul Party will be raising more much-needed funds for the hospice, as well as Surviving Christmas, the guys that support vulnerable people and families over the festive season.”

The gig features four hours of live music from three bands. Headlining the night is Soul X Press and their 15-piece Blues Bro Show. They are supported by EG Riley Soul Experience, a 10-piece band performing 70s soul, and The Two Tones. Tickets are £8 in advance from Hastings Information Centre, or £10 on the night.

Blues Brothers Jake and Elwood will also be selling £8 tickets on the day while cruising around town in their vintage LAPD police car.
