Arun lends a helping hand to event planners

Those planning community events across the Arun district could soon be offered a helping hand.

Arun District Council’s events, licensing and tourism officers will be hosting a drop-in session to offer support and advice on turning ideas into reality.

Arun events officer Phil Graham said: “Whether you’ve never organised an event before, or you’ve organised many in the past, this is a chance for you to speak to people who can help make your next event a success. It’s also a good opportunity for you to network with other event organisers and share your ideas.”

Tips will be given on how to avoid many pitfalls planning large and small-scale events, including alcohol licensing, land restrictions, security and safety.

The session will take place on March 21, at the Arun Civic Centre, in Maltravers Road, from 4-6pm. Emergency services officials will be attending.
