DOZENS of folk enjoyed a ‘flipping’ good time down on the promenade when they took part in a pancake race.
More than 60 people took part in the traditional Pancake Tuesday race organised by the Post Office Tea Rooms.
Teams of four, two and individual runners battled it our for the honours.
They had to run from Azur for 100 yards and back flipping their pancake in a relay race.
The winners of the four-man heat was the Hastings Arts Forum first team consisting of Harry Lyons, Peter Andow, Mela Barker and Kari Allen.
Harry, 74, who is chairman of the forum, said: “There was a good turnout and it was a lot of fun.
“A few people dropped their pancakes along the way but there were some excellent flippers out there.”
Fellow competitor Ruzanna Badalyan, owner of Cafe Relax, said: “It was great to see Harry running along at the age of 74 and helping his team to win.
“It is quite hard to run and flip pancakes at the same time - I dropped mine twice.”
