Armed police drama in Bexhill

ARMED police officers boarded a train stopped at Bexhill station on Tuesday night.

Sussex Police acted after a report from a member of railway staff that two young men had been talking about shooting someone when they got off at Bexhill.

Inspector Martin Mann, of the Bexhill neighbourhood Policing Team, said that two young men had got on to the train at Rye and changed at Hastings for the Bexhill train.

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old were arrested and taken into custody at Hastings. An air gun was recovered.
