Archie from Adversane wins a ‘farm’

A SEVEN-year-old boy from Adversane has won a ‘farm’ after winning a competition organised by the NFU.

Eagle-eyed Archie Light was a clear winner in the Britains/NFU Spot The Red Tractor contest in the South East.

Archie, who is a pupil at Wisborough Green Primary School, won Britains Big Farm toys worth around £100 after spotting 10 Red Tractor logos on a montage of food items including milk, bread, carrots and lamb.

Appropriately, the farm set he won included a red tractor - a battery operated Massey Ferguson tractor complete with horn and headlights.

It also featured dairy cows and a cattle trailer, a Land Rover and trailer and a horse trailer with a mare and foal.

Archie had picked up the competition entry form last summer from the NFU’s Let’s Talk Farming Roadshow.

Lauren Kennedy, from Britains Farm Toys, said: “All of the entries for 2012 have been absolutely brilliant and really impressive.

“The children have been great at spotting the red tractor food logo, learning more about British food and farming in the process.

“They can now get a taste of how food is produced with their own farms!”
