A giant clownfish and a cat officially launched the Blue Reef Aquarium’s sponsorship of this year’s pantomime at the White Rock Theatre.

The two costume characters shook hands, and paws and fins, and exchanged contracts to confirm the Rock-a-Nore Road attraction’s support of this Christmas’ production of Aladdin.

Dancing on Ice judge, dancer and West End theatre sensation Louie Spence will star as Slave Of The Ring in the family show, which runs from Friday, December 12 to Sunday, December 28.

Lorna Hollister, theatre manager, said: “We are delighted to have Blue Reef Aquarium as one of our sponsors for this year’s magical pantomime Aladdin.

“It’s great to have a local attraction on board and we look forward to working with the team at Blue Reef on such an exciting production,” she added.

Aladdin is being produced by ‘One From The Heart’ in association with HQ Theatres & Hospitality, the UK’s second largest regional theatre operator.

Blue Reef Aquarium’s Chrissie Daniels said: “It’s very exciting for us to get involved in this year’s pantomime.

“We are very lucky to have such a great theatre on our doorstep and we need to continue to support it. Hopefully Louie and other members of the cast will get the chance to pop down to the aquarium at some stage in between rehearsals.”

Louie is a television personality best known as the artistic director at the Pineapple Dance Studios Sky One documentary series. He has been a professional dancer since a boy performing in West End musicals.
