‘Appy’ hunting for local attractions

WITH summer fast approaching if you are short of ideas for where to go and what to see on your doorstep then help is at your fingertips.

The official 1066 Country iPhone app has just been launched by 1066 Country Marketing, the official tourism marketing group for the area. The app is free to download now.

Jane Ellis, from 1066 Country, said: “The essential, on-the-fly visitor guide to Hastings, Rye and Battle, Bexhill, Herstmonceux and Pevensey is designed to help visitors and local people make the most of their time in this beautiful part of East Sussex.

“Discover historic castles, beautiful gardens, the historic coast and stunning countryside. It’s like having a regularly updated pocket guidebook at your fingertips!

Kevin Boorman, manager of 1066 Country Marketing, said: “Although we’re rich in history and heritage here in 1066 Country, we’re very forward looking too. This app means that we are using the very latest technology to make it even easier for visitors to have a really enjoyable time here, and that’s got to be good for local businesses too.” With sections covering an extensive range of accommodation, over 40 attractions and hundreds of spectacular events, the app contains listings for hundreds of businesses with images, full descriptions, opening times, admission prices, locations and contact details. There’s also a unique ‘favourites’ function so you can build up your own personalised itinerary of things to do during your trip.
