As part of the Open Gardens season, St Michael’s Hospice will be hosting a Local Plant and Produce Market next month, giving keen gardeners the perfect opportunity to stock up in time for summer.
To ensure there are plenty of plants, the hospice has sent out a plea to anyone with surplus plants to kindly donate them for the event, which is on Saturday, May 16.
Sally Beresford, community fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “This is the first year we have held the Local Plant and Produce Market. We’re particularly looking forward to giving local independent retailers a chance to sell their produce, as well as having a wide range of plants on sale at great prices. We would be incredibly grateful for any plant donations to support this event to ensure it is as successful as possible. The event also gives people the chance to sample some local products and look around the beautiful hospice gardens so it’s definitely one not to miss.”
Plants can be donated by leaving them near Greenhouse 1 and 2, or by visiting reception at the hospice in Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards. For more information contact Sally on 01424 456369 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
