Another One Stop targeted by knife-wielding robber
Another One Stop has been robbed at knifepoint in Hastings - the second such incident in just two days.
Police were called to the One Stop shop in Ore Valley Road just after 10.05pm on Saturday (March 11) following reports that a man had entered the store and climbed over the counter before threatening one of the shop workers with a large knife and demanding money from the safe.
The woman told the raider she did not have access to the safe and a second member of staff managed to activate the panic alarm.
The man fled from the store empty handed.
Both members of staff and a customer who was in the store at the time were uninjured.
The suspect is described as white, 5’9”, of slender build and in his early 20s.
At the time of the offence he was wearing a black mask, a hooded black top with a green Adidas emblem on the front, black trousers with a white strip down the side and was carrying a small black bag.
The raid came just 24 hours after a knife-wielding robber stole hundreds of pounds from the One Stop in Blackman Avenue.
The man entered the shop at around 10pm on Friday (March 10) and threatened a shop worker with a knife.
He reached over into the till and stole around £500 in cash before making his escape.
No one was injured during the incident.
The incidents come less than a fortnight after a knife-wielding man robbed the One Stop shop in Sedlescombe Road North.
A shop worker sustained a cut to his hand during the robbery on February 26.
A spokesperson from Sussex Police said: “Investigations into a number of robberies within the Hastings and St Leonards area continue and officers are still working to establish whether or not they are connected.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them online at https://sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal/ or call 101 quoting serial 1461 of 11/03.
