Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary will be holding its annual Open Day next Sunday (August 7) and all are invited for a day of family fun 12noon-5pm.
The event is the sanctuary’s main fundraiser and the support of the local community along with those who visit from further afield is vital to help keep the registered charity, which is situated at Pipzedene, Freezeland Lane, Bexhill doing it’s essential work. It is a nonprofit making charity rehoming or providing permanent refuge for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals.
The Open Day gives visitors the opportunity to visit all the animals and birds who have been offered a safe haven by Barby Keel and her hard-working team who are mainly volunteers.
Along with perusing the animals and birds, fun games will keep youngsters entertained. Shoppers will have the opportunity to grab a bargain or two from the many stalls selling a wide range of goods including plants, bric a brac, garden equipment, furniture, shoes, clothes, bags and books. There’s also a Grand Raffle, Tombola and Refreshments.
There’s free minibuses from Sidley car park, Bexhill Town Hall Square and Little Common roundabout continuously from 11.30am, and a free car park accessed via Watermill Lane. Entry costs £2 for adults, with no charge for children.
