THE town’s MP paid a visit to residents and staff at a specialist neuro rehabilitation centre in St Leonards.
Amber Rudd had tea at Mulberry House, in Hollington Park Road. She then spent more than an hour talking to everyone, before touring the unit to see the many resources available, including vital specialist sensory equipment.
Lisa Tritton, manager of Mulberry House, said: “We are so grateful to Amber for coming to see us. It’s really good for the residents to meet the local MP and they had a great time preparing her tea. She said how much she’d enjoyed it.”
Ms Rudd said: “It was very good to learn more about acquired brain injury (ABI) and its treatment at first hand.
“The team here do a fantastic job and fully deserve their recognition by the Headway charity. The knowledge I’ve gained here will be very helpful when the subject is raised in Parliament. I was impressed not only by the breadth of facilities at Mulberry House but also by the personal and thoughtful care that the patients receive from the staff.”
