PUPILS from All Saints Junior School have been preparing an Olympic mosaic display in the run-up to the start of the Games today (Friday).

Led by parent and artist, Emma Law, children from Year 4 selected running, weightlifting, swimming, sailing and archery as being relevant to the history of Hastings, to be included in the five rings.

Teacher Kelvin Godfrey said: “Children used tiles, of which some were kindly donated by Shades Tiles, and were involved in measuring, organising colours, choosing and sticking ceramic tiles, tracing images onto the backboard and sharing creative ideas.

The mosaic will be fixed to a wall in the playground as a commemoration of the 2012 London Olympics.
