A SCHOOL has launched a programme for its brightest students.

The Hastings Academy in Rye Road set up the Falcons scheme this week.

The aim is to provide extra opportunities and specialist classes for students.

Amanda Crisford, welfare, admissions and community manager at The Hastings Academy, said: “We launched the Falcons programme on Monday and it was an enormous success. The hall was literally filled to the rafters with students and their families.

“We had Brighton University’s Rachel Roser, who detailed the work and events that they will be offering our Falcons to enrich their educational experience. Sarah Cullen, from Sussex University, gave some background on the different master classes they will be running.

“We also had Moira Sheehan from Villiers Park who made a very impassioned presentation to students and parents, as well as a third year undergraduate who talked about the excitement of being at university.”
