A NEW GENERATION FOR SOUTHERN

Chris Burchell is the new managing director for train operator, Southern.

The company runs services to Lewes, Berwick, Polegate and on to Eastbourne in this part of the county.

Chris, 32, joined Southern in 2003 as its operations director, following a year in the same position at Thames Trains.

Chris is joined by two new members to the executive team '“ Andy Byford who joins as operations director from Southeastern and Jan Chaudhry as the new commercial director, previously with Thameslink.

Chris takes over his new role from Charles Horton who has moved on to become managing director of Southeastern, the new Integrated Kent Franchise, which began on Saturday 1 April
