Ark 6th Form East Sussex toasted success as its students gained top A-level results today (Thursday, August 18).
The school, made up of students from both Helenswood and William Parker Academies, saw 47 per cent of A-level students get at least three A*-B grades and 76 per cent achieving three A*-C grades.
Student Russell Reid said: “I’m feeling pretty good and over the moon with my results.”
Jaikun Yu said: “I’m quite happy as these results will get me into Imperial College to study medicine.”
Student Tyler Mellish (Willard) said: I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I did better than I expected and I’m looking forward to celebrating with my friends, who have all done really well. My teachers were great and couldn’t have done any more to help.”
Zoe Buontempo’s face lit up with happiness when she got her results. She said: “I’m so happy and over the moon. All my hard work has paid off and I got exactly what I need to get into King’s College London. I couldn’t ask for more.”
Imogen Piney-Willis said: “This has been the most stressful time of my life. I’ve worked so hard with my studying and revising. I’m so relieved to get into York University, as well as being a little nervous and excited. My teachers are the most amazing and committed teachers I have ever met. I am so grateful to them.”
Lucy Monk, joint principal of Ark 6th Form East Sussex said: “These results reflect the hard work of both students and staff in the last year.
“We are extremely proud of their efforts with nearly 80 per cent of our students accepting places at their first choice university. One of our top performers is Russell Reid, who secured four A*s and an A grade and will be taking up a place at the University of Oxford to study physics.”
