EIGHT-year-old Nirvana Jamieson has a bright future in ballet ahead of her after securing a highly sought-after place at The Royal Ballet School.
The St Mary Star of the Sea schoolgirl has been dancing for most of her life and has been taking classes in ballet and modern with Nicola Rodmell at the YMCA in St Paul’s Road, for the last two years.
Nicola said: “I could see straight away, she was very promising.
“She is really keen and cannot wait to learn.”
Nicola said that she is extremely proud of Nirvana for making it through the audition, adding: “I think her mum is very excited too.
“She is really lucky to get that sort of training.”
Nirvana, who lives in Albany Road, St Leonards, currently dances three times a week after school. She first took dance lessons with Margaret DeHaviland in Mercatoria aged two and a half, and is also a keen gymnast.
She will be taking up her place as junior associate at The Royal Ballet School in the coming academic year.
Nicola said: “You can see from just looking at her that she has the talent. She has all the ingredients to make it to the classical ballet.”
