The visit is part of a new upcoming TV series.

George said: “1066 Country is one of my favourite areas because of the amazingly diverse architecture.

“I love the rich mix in Hastings, with timber framed Tudor houses, Victorian terraces and Regency seafront flats. Plus there is such a wealth of iconic buildings that give the place real character, the Art Deco Marine Court, the Jerwood and of course the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. It’s an area that really excites me.”

In his new Channel 4 series, George Clarke’s House Rules, he said he wants to help families uncover historic hidden gems, and create homes fit for the future.

George said: “The problem is so many of us live in homes where generations of previous owners, developers and DIYers have wrecked the interiors and left us confused about what to do.

“We are terrified of tearing out features that may be the must-have selling points of tomorrow. I want to create architectural interiors that correct past mistakes, restore what is authentic, while at the same time transforming those spaces to suit the way we live in the 21st century.”

The series will focus on the design dilemmas people have when trying to achieve a modern look in a period property.

George added: “My house rules will help everyone answer their most difficult home questions. What should we keep or throw away? What should we restore? How can we make our home, built for a past generation, work for us?”

George’s team are will be scouring the area from Monday (November 30).

They are looking for people who own period properties and are about to embark on a major interior makeover. They are looking for homes of all sizes, and all architectural periods, including listed properties. Full planning permission and finance must be in place.
