Blues Band still going strong
Their most recent album inspired their latest tour which visits Worthing’s Assembly Hall on Thursday, March 22.
In 1979 ex-Manfred Mann members Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness formed The Blues Band and finalised their line-up in 1982 when Hughie Flint was replaced by drummer Rob Townsend who joined Dave Kelly and Gary Fletcher. Each member had a successful individual career before they formed The Blues Band and all continue to enjoy their own work. But together, they have now made twenty albums. They often appear at festivals across Europe, and in October 2011 they released their new studio album Few Short Lines which features special guests including Linda Lewis, Maggie Bell, Southside Johnny, Pete Wingfield and Mike Sanchez.
