Madness, music and melancholy of Suggs

Accompanied by a lone pianist, Suggs, with his trademark swagger and superbly executed patter, takes centre stage mixing narrative, anecdote and song to reveal his life story in an uproarious stand-up memoir.

As he turns 50 a loud crash in his bathroom heralds the sudden death of his beloved cat. This tragedy propels him on a reflective journey through his own highs and lows. As the story unfolds Suggs describes his tough childhood on the rough streets of Soho, his sudden fame as lead singer of Madness and the sudden collapse of the band just a few years later.

All along Suggs illustrates his tale with a selection of Madness’ best loved and most celebrated anthems.
