The sale of Ilex End in Upper Carlisle Road marks the end of a two year project by the current owner who has worked alongside renowned architect and designer Martin Swatton, who was behind transforming a once ordinary 1980s bungalow in to a new home for Rathfinny’s Vineyard manager and his family in Alfriston.

Ilex End started life in
the 1950s as a double garage with a flat above and served as the chauffeur’s accommodation for the large house next door.

In the mid 1970s it was extended to provide a family home.

The house has been featured in housing design magazines and will be shown on Channel 4’s Build your Dream Home later this year.
