A day-longcelebration of written and spoken word

A day of live music and poetry performances will take place at Hastings Arts Forum, Marina, St Leonards, on April 23, to mark World Book Night.

The event will run from 11am until 10pm, and organisers will also be giving out free books.

On the line-up, confirmed so far will be published local author Sharon Zink, performance poet Caitlin Hayward Tapp, who has appeared at events such as SlutWalk, Jack Clementines who won the Brighton Hammer and Tongue poetry slam, and members of Hastings Writers’ Group.

There will also be a free writing workshop, with times to be confirmed.

World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books which sees thousands of passionate volunteers share their love of reading. The volunteers hand out 20 copies of their favourite book from an approved list to members of their community who don’t regularly read.
