Latest number of coronavirus cases in Hastings

Hastings has recorded just six new cases of coronavirus in the past three and a half weeks.

According to the latest figures from Public Health England, 132 people in Hastings had tested positive for Covid-19 by 4pm on Sunday (July 26).

The rate of infection in the town is 142.2 per 100,000 people – the seventh-lowest rate in England.

On July 2, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Hastings rose by 68 to 126 after figures from pillar 2 – data from tests carried out at home or at drive-through centres – were added for the first time.

In the 24 days since, Hastings has recorded six new cases of the virus, figures show.

In Rother, 188 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

In East Sussex as a whole, 1,599 people have tested positive for Covid-19. This is an increase of 123 since July 2.

The figures include positive results from tests carried out in NHS settings, such as labs and hospitals, as well as at home or at drive-through centres.
