Coronavirus: Number of confirmed cases in East Sussex is falling

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has fallen compared to last week’s figures.

There were 334 new confirmed cases of the virus reported in East Sussex in the week to February 21 – which was 434 less than the previous week.

Other figures show the breakdown of new cases across different areas in the county.

Each area has seen a drop in the number of new cases.

The rate of cases in each area is below the current average for England of 108 cases per 100,00 people.

In the week to February 18:

Eastbourne recorded 55 new cases – 57 less than the previous week – giving a rate of 53 cases per 100,000 people

Lewes saw 77 new cases – 16 less than the week before – resulting in a rate of 75 per 100,000 people

Wealden recorded 79 new cases – 44 less than the previous week – giving a rate of 49 cases per 100,000 people

Hastings saw 59 new cases – 60 less than the week before – resulting in a rate of 64 cases per 100,000 people

Rother recorded 31 new cases – 17 less than the previous week – giving a rate of 32 cases per 100,000 people.
