Pub between Hastings and Rye to open with screens over the bar

A pub has installed screens over the bar to ensure the 'safety and comfort' of customers as it reopens this weekend.

The Queens Head, in Icklesham, will be reopening on Saturday (July 4), serving drinks only between 12pm and 9pm.

It will also be open on Sunday, but closed on Monday, before the kitchen is reopened later in the week.

Owner Ian Mitchell said: "Whatever changes we have to make there will still be the same big smile and welcome, though no live music for some time yet."

A number of pubs, restaurants and bars across the area will be reopening on Saturday as lockdown restrictions continue to ease in England.

Social distancing will be enforced and customers have been advised to book before attending hospitality venues this weekend.
